Your Best Redox Friend

World-leading redox measuring

We know that working with redox metabolites can be a hassle, so why not let us handle it for you? The NADMED method enables accurate quantification of all four forms of NAD as well as both forms of glutathione. Along with your results, you’ll also get reference cut-off values based on 300 healthy individuals.

Beyond data, we are committed to sharing our knowledge, offering support, and collaborating to advance NAD and glutathione research.

Whether you have questions, ideas for collaboration, or simply need support in measuring your samples’ redox metabolites, we are here to help.

Turning Complexity into Clarity

You may have considered working with NADs and glutathione, only to encounter their reputation as unstable, difficult, and cumbersome to handle.

Fortunately, the field has advanced. At NADMED, a spin-out from the University of Helsinki’s renowned mitochondrial laboratory, we are pleased to share our expertise and methods with the research community.

Stabilizing the Unstable

Let us take care of the highly unstable redox metabolites. We can extract and stabilize them from virtually any biological sample: blood, tissue, or cells.

Only a small amount is required: 150 μL of fresh or frozen blood, 20 mg of tissue, or approximately 2 million cells. We are glad to provide support for sample preparation and storage, and advice you with shipping.

Unsure whether it will work for your experiment? Just ask! We’ll help you find a solution.

Science Behind NADMED

The principle of the NADMED technology is a cyclic enzymatic reaction and colorimetric detection, where metabolites are extracted from a sample in a single step.

The intensity of the assay’s color change is proportional to the quantity of NADs or glutathiones. Sample extracts are analyzed with standards.

Finally, the values of the light absorption standards are compared to those of samples to determine metabolite concentration. The NADMED method is as accurate as, or even more accurate than, the gold-standard mass spectrometry.

Save Yourself from Headache

Whatever the size of your trial, we can support you. Let our lab handle the pipetting, so you can focus on what matters most: accurate results. And if you need assistance with interpretation, we’re here to help.

With NADMED, you also benefit from significant savings in both time and cost. And best of all, we eliminate the metabolic headaches you may have faced before.

Our laboratory service starts at €77 per sample, with a turnaround time of just 2–3 weeks.
