Why Test My NAD Levels?
NADs are crucial molecules for energy production, play a vital role in cellular repair, and are involved in over 250 metabolic processes. Maintaining NAD balance is essential for optimal metabolism and overall health.
Low NAD levels are common in a multitude of different conditions and diseases. Recent studies have explored NAD imbalance in:
- Long COVID
- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
- Inflammation
- Cancers
- Neurodegenerative diseases
- Glaucoma
High NAD levels, commonly caused by taking high doses of NAD supplements, are associated with hightened insulin resistance and blood vessel inflammation.
Testing your NAD levels gives you insight into your body’s needs, helping you and your GP make more informed decisions.
Are you ready to take control of your health?
Do I Need to Prepare for the NAD Test?
No, you don’t need to do anything beforehand. The NAD test requires no special preparation – no fasting, no lifestyle changes. The NADMED method only requires a small amount of whole blood.
Simply fill in your details, and we’ll connect you with the nearest laboratory or clinic offering the test. They will then provide you with all the information you need.

What Are NADs?
NADs (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotides) are vital molecules found in every cell. Together, they play a central role in energy production, cellular protection, and overall health.
NAD is derived from vitamin B3 and exists in multiple forms. The two most central to cellular energy metabolism are NAD⁺ (oxidized) and NADH (reduced), which drive ATP production in the mitochondria – the “powerhouses” of your cells.
When people refer to NAD, they often mean only NAD⁺. However, measuring NAD⁺ alone doesn’t give the full picture. The balance between NAD⁺ and NADH provides deeper insight into your metabolic health.
Currently, no other method can accurately measure both forms, and therefore, reveal critical information about their ratio and redox balance.
